Weald Division Centenary Launch Party

150 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Senior Section and adult volunteers from Weald Division gathered at Bedgebury Pinetum for a morning of activities including shelter building, orienteering and a treasure hunt. After a picnic lunch eaten in the shelters a Cedar of Lebanon tree was planted to celebrate the centenary launch, this was followed by the presentation of several 5,10,and 30 year ‘Long Service’ awards to adult leaders from Teise and Paddock Wood Districts.
Poppy Simister a member of Teise District Rangers was presented with her Gold Duke of Edinburgh award.
Several retired former Weald Division Guiders joined the celebration as guests of the Division. The event was rounded off with a campfire.

Alison Sylvester, Weald Division Commissioner, said “THE LAUNCH PARTY IS THE FIRST CHANCE FOR ALL OUR MEMBERS TO MEET TOGETHER IN THE SPIRIT OF THE FIRST GUIDE PIONEERS AND RECOGNISE WE ARE PROUD TO BE PART OF THE BIGGEST ORGANISATION FOR GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN IN THIS COUNTRY.”
