Funtenary

Kent Weald Does Funtenary

4825 Brownies from across LASER gathered at Butlins Bognor Regis on the weekend of 15-17th January. Housed in a variety of accomodation from swanky hotels to family appartments and with all that Butlins had to offer, the weekend promised to be mountain top moment for all participants. Over the course of the weekend the Brownies got wet at Splashworld, try out craft and circus skills, go on fairground rides, make noise in the trash band and visit the beach, which was just a stone's throw away.

Also keeping the Brownies entertained were the Redcoats who put on the Friday night disco and two shows, including a performance from Hannah Montana. Cindy Centipede, our colourful funtenary mascot, made sure that all the girls kept busy with the wide choice of challenges and competitions enclosed in the all important goodybag!

Kent Weald were honored to participate in the Centenary Show, an epic piece of drama in which two girls from 2110 travelled back in time in their tardis-like tent to visit 1909, 1924, 1940, 1968, 1995 and of course our current centenary celebrations. Lucky Brownies and leaders got to dress up in original vintage uniform and act out mini meetings with activities typical of the period. With two performances infront of a total of over 6000 people the girls definately had stars in their eyes!

Thanks to everyone involved for making this such a memorable event.
